Paint’s Peeling, the Multi Synod Senior High Gathering, will be held on March 28-30, 2008 at Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria, MN. The event is open to 9th-12th grades. Registration forms must be turned into Deb by January 31, 2008. The registration forms are available online and at the CYF bulletin board.  The cost is $160.00--$100 due with registration and $60 due by March 1, 2008.  If you would like to attend, but the cost might keep you from attending, see Deb as soon as possible. A limited number of scholarships are available.  Look at the bulletin board for more information or see Deb.

On Sunday February 3rd, 140 million Americans will tune in to the Super Bowl football game.  There will be parties with abundant food, friendship and fellowship. At the same time, there will be people worrying about staying warm, finding shelter and a warm meal.  Please join young people around the US as they demonstrate God’s love by loving their neighbors through the Souper Bowl of Caring.  It’s a simple, yet significant act of caring for others.  Drop $1 (or more) in the soup pot as you leave worship on February 3rd.  Our young people are developing hearts for giving that can last a lifetime.  Please support their efforts.

You Asked for It . . .You Got It!
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 16th.  Students from 5th through 12th grades will be swooshing down the hill at Powder Ridge.  The cost for this fellowship event will be $12.00 (covers admission and bus).  Each student is also asked to bring any money he/she might need for food.  Children, Youth and Family will provide hot chocolate and cookies.  All students should be here no later than 4:40pm.  The bus will leave promptly at 5:00pm and will return at 9:00pm.  Each child must have a permission slip in order to attend

The third and fourth grades will enjoy a movie and snacks on January, 16, 2008.  They will begin and finish at their regular times. 

The Wednesday School 3rdgrade students will be presented with Bibles on Sunday, January 6th at both services. 

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 6:00pm—between the Ash Wednesday Services—for all 9th grade students and their parents in the Fellowship Hall.  At this meeting, parts for the drama in the Good Friday Service will be assigned and information discussed concerning rehearsals and expectations.  All 9th grade students are required to attend.  It is very important parents attend this meeting, as well.  It is always more effective when parents get important information first-hand and are available to ask any questions or raise any concerns.  We are asking all parents to help with the drama, however and whenever their schedules permit—i.e. costumes, props, etc.  Parents will be asked to sign up during the meeting.

Consider this notice your invitation to the New Year’s Eve Party.  The theme is the “Nifty Fifties” and the agenda is fun, fun and more fun.  So dress in your best 1950 attire, bring your favorite snack or appetizer and prepare yourself for a good time and a faith-filled beginning to the New Year.  See you in the fellowship Hall on December 31st at 8:00pm.  You can come when you want and stay as long as you choose.  The service will begin at approximately 11:45pm.  Soft drinks, soda fountain treats, games, karaoke and more will be included as a part of the party.  A donation will be taken at the door to help cover costs.  The entire congregation is invited to attend.  Please RSVP on the sign-up sheet in the narthex (by the poster), if you have a chance.  If not, come anyway.  See you there!

Deborah Cantrell will be joining staff of St. John's next week.  She will be introduced to the congregation at worship on Sunday, August 19th.

JR B.A.S.I.C. will meet next on Nov. 13th.  We will be having "edible olympics".  Wear clothes that you don't care if you get dirty or stained.  We will be meeting from 6-8pm in the youth room.  Invite a friend and come ready to have a blast! See you there

The Mission Teams will be participating in the worship services next Sunday.  Following worship at 10:00 there will be a "thank you" luncheon in the Fellowship Hall to the congregation for the support that was given throughout the entire year.  Come see pictures, eat lunch, and hear stories! 

Beginning July 5th 3rd - 6th graders will be attending Camp Yahooo at Camp Chi-Rho.
