new member process

Individuals desiring to become "members" of St. John's are asked to contact the church office.

Prior to our New Member Sundays (offered three times a year), new members are asked to attend two New Member Gatherings.

The first session of the New Member Orientation focuses on what we believe as Lutheran Christians, our relationship with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, our structure as a congregation, and an introduction to exploring one's SHAPE (eg. Spiritual Gifts, Heart or Passions, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences in Life).

The second session of the New Member Orientation continues our exploration of one's SHAPE - especially how one might personally become involved in sharing one's God-given SHAPE within and beyond St. John's. We look at the ministry opportunities here at St. John's, we explain DiSCIPLe and our mission as a congregation, and we review what will take place on New Member Sunday.
