MENTORMINISTRY

In the Bible, we hear God calling us into relationships so we might learn and grow as people of faith. Moses trained and equipped Joshua to lead God’s people into the promised land. Eli guided the boy Samuel toward a deeper understanding of God’s call on his life. Jesus sent the disciples out two by two to share the good news of God’s kingdom. The Apostle Paul nurtured a mentoring relationship with Timothy as they partnered in ministry together.

At St. John’s, we carry this biblical tradition forward by investing in meaningful mentoring relationships during a student’s 9th-grade year of D-Way as they prepare for their Rite of Confirmation in 10th grade. These relationships create trusted friendships and give youth another caring adult who will listen, laugh, ask questions, pray with them, and walk alongside them as they grow in faith.

St. John’s takes great pride in this longstanding mentorship program—one that has shaped generations of young people and continues to impact their lives well into adulthood.
